More on us

We, at Rad7, are dedicated to rescuing abused and homeless animals. We place dogs and cats in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes and educate prospective foster/adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog or cat into their homes and lives. We do not have a shelter and are foster-based, or board animals we find in dire need. Animals in our care are spayed or neutered, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement into permanent homes. We are determined to keep administrative expenses extremely low— ZERO cost because we are all volunteers—every donation taken in goes directly to the care of our rescues. Rad7 remains committed to the welfare of the animal beyond the adoption process. Finally, we strive to work with area shelters and other rescue organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers to create a better world for abused and neglected animals.

Meet Our Team

RAD7 began with two members who both lived in District 7, with a passion to support animals. Realizing that personal efforts are not enough, they form a non-profit organization that focuses on giving stray animals their best lives. Now, RAD7 is led by a team of four strong, dedicated women whose vision goes beyond helping the animals of District 7 — they aim to make an impact across the entire city.

How we solve stray overpopulation

Step 1: Trap

Colony cats are captured using humane traps

Step 2: Neuter

Captured cats are brought to a provider to be spayed/neutered and (usually) vaccinated

Step 3: Return

The recovered cats are returned to their original territory and set free
